“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:5b-6
“And [Jesus] made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”Revelation 5:10
A critical yet seldom taught Kingdom truth is the calling and the role of modern-day kings and priests. Historically, these roles were separate and distinct. Yet Jesus clearly commands to serve individually as well and concurrently as kings and priests.
This week I will briefly introduce you to the anointment and the calling of modern-day kings and priests.
Let’s begin by defining each term.
A king (basileus) is a person who is leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land. A priest (hiereus) is one who offers sacrifices in general and fully devoted to Christ alone.
Among the greatest of all the enemy’s deception is the complete separation of clergy and laity. These roles have unfortunately been transformed into and embraced as heavenly truth – that priests and kings are to be always and totally separated, with kings playing a subservient “laymen” role within the kingdom vs the priests “anointed” role.
Such a deceptive distinction severely severs the potential supernatural unity and power that can flow between and within kings and priests, to transform marketplaces and nations to fund the end time harvest of souls.
It is well within both reason and theology to see that both kings and priests could be separate yet united kingdom entities. More on this in tomorrow’s Marketplace Minute.
Today’s Revelation: You are called to be both a marketplace King and Priest.
Today’s Activation: Simply ask God today to open you heart, mind and soul to receive a fresh, perhaps doctrinally-challenging word on His desires for modern-day kings and priests and how your destiny fits within His plan.
