Every military leader must thoroughly understand the battlefield before he or she wages their war. Yet Christians march into our battlefield (marketplace) without a clue as to what we face or what we need to do to win.
Here is a brief strategic snapshot of your battlefield with a brief, in-depth video teaching on how to prepare yourself to win your marketplace war!
Your Marketplace Battlefield
“Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.” Luke 4:5-6
These two verses clearly present our battlefield. Four specific phrases jump out.
#1: High Mountain – in the Bible, mountains represented the high ground, the majesty and power to rule from maximum authority. Satan took Jesus to the highest mountain so he could tempt Jesus will all that existed below.
#2: KingdomS – the “s” is critical here. Satan pointed to many kingdoms, meaning many different earthly realms under his influence and control.
#3: This has been delivered to me. The moment Adam bit into the fruit, Satan become the prince of this world. He still is…for now.
#4: I give it to whomever I wish. This is critical to understand. Your marketplace battlefield, ultimately, is controlled by Satan’s puppets – either his willing or blinded followers.
This is the literal and spiritual battlefield you march into everyday, regardless of your sphere of influence, industry, work group, life calling or destiny.
Lance Wallnau has popularized the allegory of “7 Mountains” to describe seven cultural and societal areas of influence. This allegory is simply a visualization of how to describe specific battlefields, and within each one, what we must do to retake enemy held territory for the Kingdom of God.
