Management Development

Manager make it happen! These heros of business must take the goals and visions of their leaders and generate great results.

Our Management Development System (MDS) is comprised of three key steps: Assessment + Boot camp + Coaching and is designed for:

  • Mid-managers
  • Supervisors
  • High potential future supervisors

Step 1: Assessment

Before attending the one-day Management Excellence boot camp, attendees complete an on-line DiSCâ„¢ behavioral styles inventory to assess their preferred behavioral styles at work (distributed and reviewed during the boot camp).

Step 2: Boot Camp

This one-day learning experience educates your managers and supervisors on how to integrate the six essential skills for supervisory success. Based upon Dr. Jim's book, Management Excellence, participants learn:

  • Problem solving - how to recognize real problems, set clear performance standards, find root causes, and generate multiple solutions.
  • Planning and organizing - how to separate what's urgent from what's important and to stop managing like "Smoky the Bear" (just putting out fires.)
  • Communicating - how to send clear messages, hone listening skills, and give constructive feedback.
  • Delegating - how to effectively delegate career enriching tasks, stop taking on other people "monkeys", and reinvest the ROI of delegation on business-growing tasks.
  • Training - how to quickly assess real training needs and apply 15 low-to-no cost front-line training methods.
  • Motivating - how to create a motivational work environment, create powerful individual incentives, and keys to motivating today's employee.

Step 3: Coaching

To reinforce the learning, participants are invited to join a boot camp teleconference reinforcement session with Dr. Jim. These sessions provide:

  • Opportunity to share struggles and successes with other boot camp graduates.
  • Motivation to use the learning.
  • Accountability to generate an ROI on the learning investment.
  • Action planning to continue the new behaviors.

In addition, all participants receive the following long-term reinforcement materials and resources:

  • Special mailings and articles.
  • Worksheets and action plans pads.
  • Memory Joggers.
  • Access access to on-line newsletters, white papers, and eBooks.
  • Quarterly “Boot Camp” graduates mailings, materials, books, and related materials.
