20 Keys to a Supernatural Business Harvest

Ask yourself:

  • Does Jesus desire you to receive just enough to get by in your business or more than enough?
  • Is He only interested in you getting what you need to make today’s payroll or in sending you an overflow that your employees and partners can also be blessed?
  • Do you believe in a “just enough for today Jesus” or “a life more abundant Jesus?” (John 10:10)

Luke 5:1-9 is a fantastic example of how to prepare yourself to receive an overflowing, net-breaking supernatural bounty for your business and your partners.

As I teach in my book, Our Unfair Advantage: How to Unleash the Power of Holy Spirit in Your Business, much of the answer to your abundant life lies being Spirit-led. And when you do, get ready for your blessing.

Here are the 20 keys on how to step into your supernatural business harvest.

Keys to Supernatural Business Harvest

“So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.” Luke 5:1-2

#1: People desire to hear the Word.

#2: Jesus is watching – even if you do not see him.

“Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.” Luke 5:3

#3: Jesus steps into your boat (even if you do not ask).

#4: Jesus only spoke to Simon Peter– not his partners.

#5: Jesus is always ready to teach you what you need to know.

“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” Luke 5:4

#6: Often what Jesus tells us to do sounds ridiculous.

#7: Catching a big harvest requires you go into deep waters of your sphere of influence.

#8: Jesus wants you to cast out multiple nets to catch all your supernatural harvest.

“But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5

#9: Our natural reflex to an illogical idea (head-led) is to tell Jesus why it will not work.

#10: Toiling under our strength and knowledge is often worthless.

#11: Putting His word into action is the best way to bring in your supernatural harvest.

#12: His blessing comes with no grievous toil (Proverbs 10:22).

“And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.” Luke 5:6

#13: Peter only partially obeyed (tossed out one net even though Jesus said, “your nets”) and almost missed his supernatural harvest.

#14: One net may not be big enough for your supernatural harvest.

“So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.” Luke 5:7

#15: Peter’s supernatural harvest spilled over to his partners (even though Jesus only spoke to Peter!)

#16: Jesus’ supernatural harvest fills your nets and boats to overflow.

#17: Ensure your nets are strong enough to handle a supernatural harvest.

#18: Hang around others who are obeying Jesus’ instructions to receive a portion of their supernatural overflow.

“When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken.” Luke 5:8-9

#19: Your supernatural harvest should make you fall upon your knees and worship Jesus.

#20: Everyone around you will also be astonished at your supernatural harvest.

Great practical look at an event from Scripture that we’re all familiar with but don’t really see as an object lessor for day to day business practices. Even though our business is small, mammoth things have happened as a result of our “supernatural harvests.” Thank you for the reminder to fall on my knees in gratitude & worship to the Lord Jesus Christ for His faithfulness!

    • Dr. Jim says:

Totally agree Eric. So few of us ever CONSIDER that the supernatural harvest is just as important in the marketplace as it is in the church pews. Why? #1: the marketplace FUNDS the church. #2: Far more people will be “amazed” with a marketplace miracle (unexpected) than with an inside-the-church miracle (expected) . #3: Every business IS a “ministry” and every entrepreneur has a MINISTRY (which means “to serve”). #4: Jesus’ amazed the crowds not only with his teachings but with displaying heaven’s miracles, signs and wonders— which are just as available to us NOW in the marketplace as they with Him. Selah!

Amen to Eric’s and your comments above Dr. Jim. It is absolutely amazing to see what happens when we purpose our lives and the businesses we steward after His kingdom desires and based upon His words. Thank you again for sharing the insights.

    Blessings to you.

You are indeed welcome, Gerry. As I study, reflect and write, these revelations simply flow! So for much of my writings, these are fresh revelations the Lord gives me (along with a green light) to broadcast. (I’ve learned the hard way: some revelations are NOT for public consumption, so I follow my own advice to “Be Led” BEFORE I share His revelations.)

  • This is a mind blowing revelation from a familiar scripture. I am going to read it over and over again. God bless you Jim. Boitumelo in Botswana, Africa

    • Dr. Jim says:

Thank you so much Boitumelo! SO humbled that a Brother in Christ from Africa reads my posts. May blessing and favor (and supernatural business prosperity) fall upon you!

  • Wow! Just Wow! I’d been holding this blog post in my email inbox but hadn’t had a chance to read it till today. This post came out on the very day we launched the “Kingdom Impact Connection” membership community (Inspired by your book, The Impactor and Impact 500) . I wish I had read it on that day as it is so perfect for all we are focused on. At least I saved it. :-) But you better believe it will be going out to all who came to our event and it will be posted and shared many, many times in the future within our community. Thank you for following God and inspiring all who read your work.

    • Dr. Jim says:

Gee Tina – what can I say except praise be the Lord! So humbling to see my book “The Impacter” have such an “impact” on you and the greater KC are. So enjoy following your walk of faith in the marketplace. Thank you for the kind shout out.
